Tina Frey’s modern designs—art-objects and housewares in resin, metal, paper, and textiles—have long been a perfect fit for our bold and colorful interiors. When Tina approached us about collaborating on a custom tile for Alison’s own house, we were thrilled to explore the light-filtering properties of resin. The result is a translucent black resin tile inspired by the shape and pattern of tambour used elsewhere as cladding. Arrayed on a headboard wall, light rakes across and through the tile, creating shadow play throughout the day. The success of this collaboration expanded into a collection of custom cabinet hardware inspired by some of Alison’s favorite colors.
