A modern home and a collection of classic furnishings opened the door to a journey to color and fun for a young family of four. Our studio took cues from the surrounding landscape, bringing in shades of green from the hills and adding warm hues such as burgundy, coral, magenta and a burst of neon. Layered elements include vintage pieces and artwork that stay true to the 1957 bones of the project but captivate and charm such as surreal fabrics by Jean-Philipe Demeyer, joyful custom rugs by Casa Muniz and hand-painted wallpaper by Porter Teleo. In the living room, a seating nook doubles as a stage for children’s plays and performances. Balancing the cool modernity is a highly personal art collection with work such as Erin O’Keefe’s Built Work #17 in the entry and Dave Muller’s Purple Rain, Purple Rain in the living room.
